Endodontic treatment
Endodontic treatment, or root canal treatment (sometimes called a root canal), is a procedure designed to clean and disinfect the interior of the tooth roots. Its purpose is to treat irreversible damage to the dental pulp or to create space within the root to facilitate the retention of future prosthetic restorations. It is performed under sterile conditions (using a rubber dam) and with the aid of an operating microscope.
Initially, the tooth may be either alive or necrotic.
Technically, the endodontist gains access to the tooth through an access cavity, removes the contents of the root canals, disinfects them, and then fills them to ensure that the disinfection remains effective.
The tooth is then permanently restored, either by the endodontist during the same appointment or by the treating dentist within one month of the procedure.

Consultation appointment with a comprehensive evaluation (X-ray(s), 3D scan (CBCT)—often required—tests, and a clinical interview). This appointment allows us to determine whether treatment is necessary and what type of treatment is appropriate. In some cases, if we have all the radiographic and diagnostic information provided by the referring practitioner, we can perform the treatment immediately.

Treatment appointments are generally completed in a single session, but may be spread over several sessions if the clinical situation requires it
