Endodontic retreatment

When a tooth has already undergone root canal treatment but the previous treatment was unsatisfactory (incomplete treatment, missed canal, broken instrument, etc.) or the existing restoration is no longer suitable (bacterial infiltration of the initial root canal treatment), it is necessary to repeat the root canal treatment. The procedure is similar to that of an initial root canal treatment but is technically more complex because it requires removing the old filling materials and correcting any errors made during the previous treatment.
